Autonomous Mobile Robots (AMRs) are self-guided robots that operate unassisted to perform tasks in various environments. These robots use sensors, software and advanced algorithms to navigate their surroundings, avoiding obstacles and making decisions based on the information gathered.

Instrumental in manufacturing, warehousing and logistics, they can perform repetitive tasks, eliminating human error and increasing productivity.

Reliability and durability are essential factors for AMRs. These robots must operate in challenging environments where they may encounter dust, debris and uneven surfaces. They must also work continuously for long periods, requiring robust construction and reliable components to ensure uninterrupted operation.

the technology behind our robots

Joloda Conveyor Services' Autonomous Mobile Robots work with three types of navigation: natural, laser and magnetic.

The natural navigation is the most flexible version, but it demands a higher investment. These machines orient themselves in the area by mapping it and don't require hardware installation.

Autonomous Mobile Robots that use laser navigation, on the other hand, employ laser beams to calculate distances and angles. They rely on minimal hardware and are very cost-effective.

Finally, the magnetic model uses a "tape following" mechanism. A sensor attached to the vehicle identifies the magnetic tape on the ground and follows it around the facility. This system is ideally suited for cost-sensitive companies.

Independently of the type of navigation used, all robots can be remotely controlled. Operators can monitor their positions, battery levels, routes, loads and cycle times live on a computer.

benefits of our autonomous mobile robots

Our robots can operate 24/7, increasing productivity and shortening task completion time. They can also perform functions in hazardous or hard-to-reach areas, reducing employee injury risk. Additionally, AMRs reduce operational costs by eliminating the need for human operators and increasing efficiency.

applications and processes where AMRs can be used

AMRs can be used in various processes, such as material handling, assembly and inspection. They can transport goods from one conveyor to another, reducing the need for humans to move heavy loads. Industries that can benefit from AMRs include manufacturing, warehousing, e-commerce and healthcare.

In manufacturing, AMRs can transport raw materials and finished goods, increasing efficiency and minimising mistakes. In warehousing, AMRs can help with order picking and inventory management, reducing the time required for delivery.

In e-commerce, AMRs assist with order execution, allowing them to be processed faster.

In healthcare, AMRs can transport supplies and equipment, reducing the risk of injury to healthcare workers.

AMRs are able to move a wide range of materials, including boxes, pallets and bins. They can also handle delicate or sensitive materials, such as electronics or medical supplies, using specialised grippers or sensors to ensure safe transport.
